The Texas Optometry Board accepts Parts I, II, III and TMOD of the National Board to satisfy the requirements of a written and clinical examination. The Texas Optometry Board must receive an application and fee prior to its published deadline. If a candidate for Texas licensure is in good standing and is in the final semester before graduation, and the dean of the accredited school or college optometry has so informed the Texas Optometry Board on the application provided, that candidate will be considered eligible to take the Texas State law exam.
