Candidates must pass all parts of the National Board Examination (i.e., Parts I, II and III and TMODĀ®). Optometrists initially licensed in Connecticut, or another state, prior to April 1, 1985 who seek authorization to acquire and use diagnostic pharmaceuticals in their Connecticut practice are required to complete an approved course in ocular pharmacology and pass an examination prescribed by the Department of Public Health. Connecticut-licensed optometrists may be authorized to utilize therapeutic pharmaceutical agents; further information may be obtained from the Connecticut Department of Public Health at www.state.ct.us/dph and click on Licensure Renewals.
